Prussia, Kingdom. The Medal Bar of Friedrich Heinrich von Frankenberg und Proschlitz, 1791-1858

A unique and uncommon combination of awards, attributable through extensive research, to Friedrich Heinrich von Frankenberg und Proschlitz,

Commander of the 57th Infantry Regiment. Iron Cross 2nd Class (EH2) 1813, with iron core (magnetic), and toned silver frame, measuring 42.96 mm (w) x 46.99 mm (h - inclusive of period repaired integral ring), intact iron core; An 1913-1814 Campaign Medal, in bronze, measuring 29.22 mm (w); the dates ‘1813 / 1814’ centrally within a wreath of laurel and oak; the reverse with the crowned cipher of Friedrich Wilhelm III above the inscription ‘Preußens tapfern kriegern’ (Prussia’s brave warriors) circumscribed ‘Gott war mit uns, Ihn sey die Ehre’ (God was with us To Him the Glory), the edge, inscribed ‘aus erobertem geschutz’ (from captured cannon); (Hausorden von Hohenzollern or Hohenzollernscher Hausorden). Hohenzollern, House Order, 3rd Class with Swords, Instituted 1851, in toned silver with green enameled laurels, obverse centre with Hohenzollern house coat of arms, crowned, with blue enamel surround with Motto vom Fels zum Meer (""From the cliffs to the sea""), reverse centre with the cipher of King Frederick William IV of Prussia, and a blue surround with the date den 18. Januar 1851 (Institution Date), with enamel damage, fine. Note that von Frankenberg und Proschlitz was only entitled to the medal of the order and it is believed that it was upgraded to the 3rd Class on his order or post death); Prussia, Kingdom. A 25-Year Long Service Cross for Officers. 1825-1920 Issue. (Dienstauszeichnung für Offiziere für 25 Dienstjahre) In bronze gilt cross; the obverse with a central crowned Royal Monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm III; the reverse with a central “XXV” for 25-Years of Service; on loop for suspension from a period original ribbon; measuring 36.62 mm (w) x 41.82 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring); with contact from swords of House Order, fine; Russia, Imperial. A superb Order of St.Vladimir in Gold. (Орден Святого Владимира). Instituted 1782. 4th Class. A Gold red enamelled cross pattée with black enameled borders, obverse centre presenting a hand painted crowned red and ermine mantle with the monogram of St. Vladimir, reverse centre presenting a hand painted institution date on black enameling, measuring 44.41 mm (w) x 47.95 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), with bow denoting bravery, with enamel loss from bar wearing, better than fine. Together mounted on worn on period medal bar, original ribbons an typical thin pin, overall a excellent and historical bar.

Footnote: Friedrich Heinrich von Frankenberg und Proschlitz was born on January 9, 1791 in Spandau (present-day Berlin). His father, Joseph Leopold, was a retired Colonel, former Commander of the Infantry Regiment 57. Friedrich Heinrich had three brothers and was married to Malwine von Ribbentrop (1808–1868). He joined the Prussian army at an unknown date, became Second Lieutenant in 1809 and First Lieutenant in 1813. During this time he served in the Brandenburg Artillery Brigade. In 1814 he was redeployed to the Guard Artillery Brigade. In 1816 he was promoted to Captain. In January of 1817 he served in the Staff of the General Inspector of the Artillery, Prince August of Prussia, before becoming his Adjutant in June of the same year. His promotion to Major followed in 1826. Between 1827 and 1841 he was the Commander of the Guard Artillery Brigade and at the same time became a member of the Examining Board for First Lieutenants of the Artillery, starting in late 1828. During this period he received promotions to Lieutenant Colonel in 1839 and to Colonel in 1840. In 1841 he took command of the 8th Artillery Brigade. In 1844 he was appointed Inspector of the 1st Artillery Inspection. His final promotion during active service came in 1847 when he was made a Major General. However, in 1851 he was promoted to retired Lieutenant General. He died on September 14, 1858.

ну я ее все же в руках держал. дар одной семьи берлинскому музею. ленты поменяны. аура малость утрачена.
