обратка WWI Bavarian Commemorative Flyer Badge (Flieger Erinnerungsabzeichen). Wreath approximately 44mm wide; total height 71mm. Nickel. Badge shows considerable detail. The reverse bears a series of faint unknown hallmarks. Brass pin. Excellent condition. In his excellent reference Imperial Sky, Flight Badges of the Imperial German & Bavarian Armies, Stephen Previtera notes that Carl Poellath was a known maker of the badge; it is likely that Meybauer and possible Quadrant were manufacturers as well. The hallmarks on this example are unknown to this cataloger. From the collection of Dr. Douglas Harman.
