Obverse: Embossed on the front of the badge is the emblem of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Reverse: On the reverse side there is a circular inscription "Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia". In the middle part there is an engraved 7-pointed star, the inscription "80" with a decorative stroke and the abbreviated inscription "სსს" (Criminal Investigation).
Badges are awarded for certain successes and special merits in criminal investigation activities:
a) members of police officers (current and former) working in the criminal investigation line of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
b) former employees of internal affairs bodies, veterans of criminal investigation;
c) persons whose work contributed a lot to raising the authority of the criminal investigation activity by promoting and presenting it.
