Naval chief staff physician Dr. Leonhard Meyer - a decorations and documents grouping
Five-piece medals bar with Prussia: Iron Cross 2nd Class of 1914, German Empire: Southwest Africa Commemorative Medal in steel, Bavaria: Military Merit Order 4th Class with Swords (Weiss, gold), Jubilee Medal 1905 and China: Li Yuen Hung Medal for Merit of the Red Cross Society in silver for the Wuchang Uprising 1911. An Iron Cross 1st Class of 1914 and a naval Wound Badge in Black (lacquered iron). A two-piece and an unstitched, cast-off medals bar with additional EK, JM, MVO (damaged) and an Honour Cross for Front Fighters 1934 as well as replacement ribbons. Included is Meyer's documents box with all award documents (except the Wound Badge), appointments and other documentation on the career of this chief staff physician. The documents are all rolled and with lacerations. Further, five decorations of his wife and hospital nurse from the First World War and interwar period as well as six awards (MVK and Faithful Service award etc.) with two id discs of his relative Felix Stützer from Pasing in the 1st Bavarian Train Replacement Battalion 2.
Further lots follow in the naval and protection forces chapters from the estate of this naval physician, likewise direct from family possession.
The Chinese award with decorative document and English translation are of especial phaleristic significance. For the first time the precise meaning of this 1913 award is accurately described.

Staatsbesuch des Generals Li Hongzhang in Deutschland 1896 - Ehren- und Erinnerungsmedaille
In Bronze geprägte, feuervergoldete Medaille mit Drachendarstellung und rückseitiger Inschrift. Breite 42 mm. Gewicht 20,8 g. Verliehen an das diensttuende Personal während der Delegationsreise.
General Li Hongzhang (1823 - 1901) war Vizekönig der Provinz Zhili, einer der mächtigsten Staatsmänner in China der späten Qing-Zeit und besuchte im Juni 1896 während eines Staatsbesuches Fürst Bismarck auf Schloss Friedrichsruh. Wilhelm II. nannte ihn im Zusammenhang mit dem Boxeraufstand einen "Erzhalunken und Lügner".
