Мария Савельевна Шкарлетова (3 февраля 1925 — 2 ноября 2003) — советский военный врач, участник Великой Отечественной войны, Герой Советского Союза (1945).
В октябре 1943 года М. С. Шкарлетова окончила курсы и прибыла в 170-й гвардейский стрелковый полк 57-й гвардейской стрелковой дивизии. В составе этой дивизии она прошла боевой путь, участвуя в освобождении от немецко-фашистских войск Украины, Молдавии, Польши. Войсковая часть, в которой служила Мария Шкарлетова, форсировала десятки рек: Днепр, Ингулец, Днестр, Южный Буг, Вислу и другие, ведя тяжёлые бои.

В 1965 году «за ратный подвиг, за добросовестный труд во имя здоровья людей в мирное время» М. С. Шкарлетова была отмечена наградой Международного комитета Красного Креста медалью имени Флоренс Найтингейл

Oct. 10, 1979 - Princess Alexandra Presents The Florence Nightingale Medal To Miss Diana Elvidge At the British Red Cross Society, Grosvenor Crescent, London, Princess Alexandra presented to Miss Diana Elvidge, with the highest International Red Cross Nursing award- The Florence Nightingale medal, sometimes called the nurses' VC. It is presented every other year to a maximum of 36 nurses or voluntary aide throughout the world for exceptional devotion to the sick and wounded. Miss Elvidge nursed in Malaya during the emergency between 1953 and 1955. In the 50' and 60's and the early 70's she served in Gambia, Cyprus, Uganda, Nyasa-land, Kenya, Laos and the New Hebrides.
