TURKEY. Red Crescent Award Medal in Zinc, 1917. EXTREMELY FINE.
59.84 mm; 73.83 gms. By G. Herrmann. Sister of the Red Crescent giving water to wounded Turkish soldier, Suleymaniye Mosque in distance; Reverse: Crescent, inscription, date, oak branch and uninscribed recipient plaque. Little sign of wear and only mild deterioration of the metal confined mostly to obverse. EXTREMELY FINE.
From the Collections of The Strong, Rochester, New York; sold to benefit the museum's collections fund; originally collected by John Charles Woodbury (1859-1937).
