One of Alice Barnes’ “details,” a version of the Luther seal in stone, corresponds to the image on a brooch that Otti Freundt brought to show us in the Sunday School class. She wore this brooch as a nurse at the Lutheran hospital of West Berlin, where she worked from 1955-58. It designates her membership in the sisterhood of nurses in German Lutheran hospitals, and it was worn at the center of the collar on her uniform.
