Знак пилота

Не одному мне довелось помацать этот знак, …Алексей тоже мацал…..😁
Там Вайце говорит вроде как часть которая обломалась было еще в 1936, а на фото ветерана который знак привёз вроде как эта часть еще на месте.

The badge, starting this thread is a completely original TYPE 3 Bulgarian observer made by Carl Dillenius, the lack of gold finish for the sun/rays could be explained by many different ways, but all will be speculation!
The hardware is typical for this maker mostly used on his iron crosses!
The silver content stamp is also correct for this maker!
The front die was enhanced possibly due to wear, the flat reverse is something we already saw on their TYPE 2 Observer!
IMO Robert Pandis wrote his book quicker than he wished he did, as in his series he is trashing many original badges and also displaying fakes as originals.
I guess this was the price to pay for wanting to become an expert in such a difficult area, for such a short time, but the book had to be written and it had to be written rather quickly!

Here is a very nice comparison between TYPE 1 and 3 to show exactly the same finishing method at the corners, where the front and the back meet!

Poruchik Diranov’s badge has an inscription, that absolutely can not be faked by no faker, as it’s completely correct for the late war to early post WWI period of Bulgarian writing (there are some more details, that I will omit here, but again, 100% inscription from the period)!

I have absolutely no doubt in the originality of this type of Bulgarian Observer!

Here is mine!
